The Eberly Center for Women serves the University of Toledo (UT) and surrounding community through engaging, educating and empowering women. UT's Department of Women's and Gender Studies offers an interdisciplinary major or minor through the college of Languages, Literature, and Social Sciences. UT's Feminist Alliance establishes a broad constituency to work in pursuit of feminist ideals--social, political, and economic equality for women and men, girls and boys. Together they collaborated to bring this film to the Human Trafficking and Social Justice Conference.

Baldemar founded the Farm Labor Organizing Committee (FLOC). Under his leadership FLOC has set international precedents in labor history, including being the first union to negotiate multi-party collective bargaining agreements, and the first to represent H2A international guest workers under a labor agreement. Baldemar is an internationally recognized leader in the farm-worker and immigrants' rights movements.
