Overview:

  • What is the conference?

    • The International Human Trafficking & Social Justice Conference’s mission is to unite the global community to learn, connect, and collaborate to combat human trafficking and promote social justice. We offer a holistic, inclusive, and diverse 3-day conference every September that benefits people from multiple backgrounds from all corners of the world.

  • Who can attend the conference?

    • Our conference caters to a wide array of individuals including researchers, direct service providers, healthcare professionals, lawyers, law enforcement, professors, college students, survivors, artists, advocates/activists, sex workers, and community members. People from all knowledge backgrounds are welcome to attend the conference to learn more about human trafficking and social justice issues. We offer a variety of presentations that range from beginner to advanced knowledge levels (see the “Presentations” section below for more information).

Logistics:

  • When will the next conference be?

    • The 21st Annual International Human Trafficking & Social Justice Conference will take place on Wednesday through Friday, September 18-20, 2024.

  • Will the conference be in-person or virtual?

    • The conference will be ALL VIRTUAL and will be hosted via our Conference Web App and Zoom Webinar.

Registration:

  • When does registration open?

    • Registration for our 21st annual conference will open on June 3, 2024. Please visit our Registration page for updated information.

  • How much is registration?

    • The cost for the 3-day conference is $275. There are options for 1-day and 2-day registration and discounted pricing for college students. Please note, there is a 15% discount for groups of 4 or more. For more information on registration pricing, visit our Registration page.

    • Registration is free for survivors, presenters, sponsors, Northern Ohio REACH Members, and current University of Toledo students, staff, and faculty. Please email us at info@traffickingconference.com for the authorization code to register for free (UToledo students, staff, and faculty do not need an authorization code, just their Rocket ID#).

  • Can I attend 1 day or do I have to attend the whole conference?

    • You can attend 1, 2, or all 3 days of the conference. If you are only attending 1 or 2 days, when you are completing your online registration, it will ask you to select which day(s) you will be attending. If you registered for 1 day of the conference and, for example, your schedule changes and you can now attend Thursday instead of Wednesday as was noted in registration, that is fine. Please email info@traffickingconference.com notifying us of this change.

  • Can I get a refund for registration?

    • Yes, we can offer full refunds for registration. Refunds for conference registration must be submitted via email to info@traffickingconference.com one week before the conference, by Tuesday, September 10th @ 11:59 pm EDT.

    • We will not provide refunds for any technology-related issues during the virtual conference.

  • Can I transfer my registration to someone else if I can no longer attend the conference?

    • Yes, you can transfer your registration to someone else. However, you must email us at info@traffickingconference.com notifying us of this transfer no later than one week before the conference, by Tuesday, September 10th @ 11:59 pm EDT. The transferred registration must be for the same type of registration. For example, you can transfer a two-day general attendee registration ticket to someone else who will be attending two days as a general attendee. You CANNOT transfer a two-day college student registration ticket to someone who would be a general attendee.

Continuing Education (CEs):

  • What type of CEs does your conference offer?

    • We offer up to 12 Continuing Education credits for social work, counseling, marriage & family therapy, psychology, chemical dependency, occupational therapy, public health, health education, law, and Department of Developmental Disabilities.

    • Please visit our Registration page to see what Boards have approved our CEs. Most of our CEs are approved only in Ohio. You may have to reach out to your state’s professional Board to make sure they will accept these CEs (most will).

  • How many CEs can I get?

    • If you are attending all 3 days of the conference, you can receive up to 12 CEs. If you are attending 2 days of the conference, you can receive up to 8 CEs. If you are attending 1 day of the conference, you can receive up to 4 CEs.

  • If I don’t need CEs, do you provide a certificate for attending the conference?

    • Yes, we provide a General Attendance Certificate noting the total number of hours you attended during the conference. When you are setting up your attendee profile on the Conference Web App, there will be a space where you can check mark that you would like a General Attendance Certificate.

Presentations:

  • Who are the presenters?

    • Our presenters are diverse, just like our attendees! They come from a variety of backgrounds with a wealth of professional expertise or lived experience. Our presenters include researchers, professors, direct service providers, healthcare professionals, lawyers, policy makers, law enforcement, survivors, artists, sex workers, and advocates/activists.

  • What types of presentations will there be?

    • We offer a variety of 1-hour breakout presentations during our conference.

    • Each presentation is labeled by topic and knowledge level.

      • Our topics include: art, concept, direct service, experience, healthcare, international, law enforcement, legal, programming, and research.

      • Our knowledge levels include:

        • Beginner - Appropriate for the general public and individuals with limited or no knowledge of the topic being discussed

        • Intermediate - Appropriate for individuals who have a basic understanding of the topic and want to expand their knowledge

        • Advanced - Appropriate for individuals who have extensive knowledge of the topic but are looking to improve their practice, skills, policy, or research

  • Will the presentations be live or on-demand during the conference?

    • Presentations will initially be live during the three days of the conference on September 18-20 between 9:00 am-5:00 pm EDT. However, all presentations will be recorded and available for on-demand viewing (for registered attendees ONLY) for three weeks after the conference, until October 11th @ 11:59 pm EDT, on our Conference Web App.

  • How many presentations do I have access to?

    • You have access to ALL of the sessions at this year’s conference, even ones that you did not RSVP for.

    • You are able to watch any and all of the on-demand sessions in the three weeks after the conference through our Conference Web App.

    • Please note, you ARE able to earn Continuing Education credits for sessions you watch on-demand. However, you are only able to earn CEs based on the number of days you registered for (see the Continuing Education section above). For example, if you registered for 2 days of the conference, but watched 25 sessions in the three weeks after the conference, you will still only receive 8 CEs. Another example: If you registered for 3 days of the conference, watched 10 sessions live, and then watched 2 sessions on-demand at a later time, you will receive your full 12 CEs.
